If you own an old home in Clintonville, you should read this!
We just had to have a crushed sewer pipe repaired (you might have seen all the action in the alley between Crestview and Kelso at East). What a nightmare, people! Clintonville has 100-year-old ceramic sewer pipes (they installed them in this area in 1912), and they are starting to go! You can save yourself a huge headache and thousands and thousands of dollars by getting your pipe inspected. If there is a problem and it hasn't collapsed yet they can line it for a lot less than it costs to excavate. I highly recommend the company we found, Number One Plumbing. These guys were awesome, and they do sewer pipe inspections for only $100 (most places charge $200-$300). These guys did a bang-up job, and they refused to go over their estimate, even when the two-day job turned into a five-day job.
If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to ask me. It is one of the worst, most-expensive things a homeowner can go through : (
